Bohemian Romance

Every so often my wild and free heart must create something that is straight out of a romantic bohemian dream. Boho style can be as chic as any formal wedding as well, so this wonderful styled to perfection groom and bride made my heart swoon. I hope you get inspired to try different color palettes, out of the box and explore the beautiful venue of The Acre.

Host your very own Farm to Table dinner at home!

Do you want to turn your evening with friends into a “Farm Fresh” dinner party right in your very own home? I’ve got some easy ideas just for you to bring your inner farmer out in style! When my guests arrive, I’m always sure to have a delicious signature drink available for them to sip on. I gathered fresh rosemary and squeezed lemons, to pour the sweetest of sweetest infused lemonade. Let’s make it!

Rose Infused Lemonade

1 frozen Minute Made 12 oz. juice
1 Lemon, sliced
Fresh Rosemary to garnish
2 cups of tonic water
1 bottle of Rose ( your choice )

Mix all together, and pour! Serve chilled or with ice

Every dinner party must start off with the right decor, and what better place to begin than heading to your local floral shop, in my case I found some affordable bouquets of fresh flowers at Trader Joes. Make sure to cut the stems down a few inches, prep your floral dish to start designing. Use pops of color and a bunch of greenery!  This will bring your table a sense of texture and that “wild flower picked” look you want! You can purchase your wet foam at Hobby Lobby + water resistant floral tape to make sure your floral is secure.

Insert your greenery first as your base and finish off with your accent floral. What’s an accent floral? A flower that you find colorful, larger and that stands out! Have fun with it, spread them around in different spots! This is going to be your center arrangement for your table!

The Feels
Want to re-create the atmosphere of eating outside on a woodsy farm table indoors? Focus on elements like herbs, fruits, and veggies to style your table!  I sprinkled organic pears, tomatoes and relishes to act as the “runner” along the side of my arrangement. The nice part about the farm vibes, it’s ok to get a little messy with it, so cheers to your friends across the table and break some bread!

Place Setting
Instead of your place mat positioned as usual, flip it around and let it drop down under your plate, you can easily change this look by turning the mat towards your body like in the photo. I added a little bit of left over greenery for each linen napkin for an accent, and you should too!

A healthy salad is a sure staple to any farm to table evening. I have an easy DIY Organic Arugula salad that will sure make your guests swoon with color and taste, topped with a zesty dressing! My mouth is watering already thinking about it!

Zesty Organic Arugula Salad

In a large bowl mix:

1 bag of baby Arugula
Light handful of Almonds
Sliced Radish

Zesty Dressing:
4 Tbsp Red Wine Vinegar
¾ cups Olive Oil
½ tsp. garlic powder
4 Tbsp Lemon Juice
½ tsp pepper
½ tsp salt
2 Tbsp Sugar
1 tsp. dry mustard

To me “Farm-to- Table” is about bringing all the elements of preparing meals the old fashioned way, straight from the farm — from your local market — to your home. Good conversations, healthy eats, sharing dishes and enjoying the simplicity of “dinner time”. I hope that you can re-create your very own farm to table dinner soon with these useful tips!

Real Wedding: Amanda + Hector

Amanda’s and Hector were a dream to work with! After our first meet over coffee I knew that Amanda was my soul sister, she loved flowers, fashion and design as much as I did! I was so happy to style, capture and design her big day! We talked lush greenery, pretty soft palettes and bohemian flowing textures of floral! I truly had an amazing time designing her bouquet and gorgeous floral crown, that might I add, Amanda didn’t take off until the very end of her wedding ( eeek, so cute )! Need I say more? DIY Watercolor inspired pillow covers!

Time to spruce up any room, this DIY pillow case is super easy and adds a hand-drawn touch to any home! Now, don’t be intimated by the brush! You don’t have to be Picasso to create a fun pillow case, I just researched some floral drawings I liked online for inspiration and started from there! Get messy with it, it’s all supposed to be fun! This is a great project to do with your girlfriends too, add some bubbly in the mix and you’ve got yourself a fun gals night in!

Materials you will need:
(2) White pillow case from IKEA ( I used the Gurli 50×50 cm )
(2) 11 3/4 x 8 in x 4 3/4 cardboard box flattened from Hobby Lobby
(1) Watercolor 6 color paint set by Art Advantage from Hobby Lobby
A paint holder and some brushes

Buy however many pillow cases you want to paint! First, I inserted my cardboard box into my pillow case, as you begin to paint the watercolor will seep through, so make sure your cardboard is covered underneath the points of where your brush will be hitting!

This is the fun part, start drawing! You can create fun strokes, floral, greenery, etc! I mixed some of my colors with white to make the tones lighter or with more to make bolder. The key to the “watercolor” look on fabric is to let the brush contain more liquid rather than paint.  Don’t completely fill out each drawing by leaving non-painted areas clear to achieve that watercolor look. See below!

Let your pillow case dry for about 2 hours! Then insert your pillow into the case! Place your sweet creation in a perfect spot in your office, bedroom, living room or wherever! Ooo-lala you have yourself an adorable addition!

*Please note, cases should not be washed
