One thing I love is a delicious bowl of Chili! This Dutch Oven Chili Recipe makes my mouth water just thinking about it! If you’re a sweet n’ salty person like myself, you’re going to LOVE this recipe. It’s super easy, a crowd pleasure and one of the best chili’s I’ve ever had! Where did Chili Originate?

Chili originated in the southwestern United States, particularly in Texas, where it became popular as a hearty, spicy stew made with chili peppers, meat, and spices. It has roots in Mexican cuisine but developed its own unique identity in the U.S.

Equipment

  • 1 Dutch Oven

Ingredients:

  • 1 lbs. Ground Organic Turkey
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Yellow Onions
  • 1 tbsp. Chopped Green Pepper
  • 1 tbsp. Chopped Red Pepper
  • 2 can Great Northern White Beans *Low sodium on all beans if possible and use entire can including the juice
  • 1 can Kidney Beans *Low sodium on all beans if possible and use entire can including the juice
  • 1 can Pinto Beans *Low sodium on all beans if possible and use entire can including the juice
  • 1 can Corn
  • 1 bottle Beer ( any brand )
  • 1 8 oz. Tomato sauce
  • 1 can Matteo's Mild Salsa
  • 1 jar Mild Banana Peppers ( Mt. Olive )
  • 1 jar Sweet Banana Peppers ( Mt. Olive )

Instructions:

  • First, chop your onions, green and red peppers and cook until somewhat sauteed in your large pot.
  • Add your turkey meat, cook all together.
  • Next, add the rest of your ingredients but not the banana peppers. This is saved for the end.
  • Cook on low to medium for 2-3 hours with lid on, stirring occasionally.
  • After, add half of each banana peppers into the chili. Stir, and cook for another 15 min with lid open.
  • Serve with sour cream, cheese, hot sauce or even corn ships! Yum! Enjoy, it’s one of my favorite Chili’s to make, total crowd pleaser!
