Who doesn’t love a delicious crunchy onion ring?! I do! It’s something that I’m always tempted to order for an appetizer at any restaurant, but I have to say that this version is going to be healthier and fresh for you! Here’s an easy recipe to make at home!
Check out the reel I made for this recipe
What you’ll need:
2 large yellow or white onions, trim the ends, peels off the skins and cut the onions in slices
¾ cup of all purpose flour OR coconut flour, almond flour
1 cup bread crumbs
½ cup milk
½ teaspoon of paprika
½ teaspoon of chili powder
½ teaspoon of garlic powder
Dash of salt & pepper
Preheat your air fryer to 375, place the flour in a bowl, in a separate bowl combine your bread crumbs paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, salt & pepper and mix, whisk your eggs and milk in a separate bowl. Dip your single rings into the egg mix, then the flour mix, egg mix again then the panko mix and add to your air fryer dish. Repeat until finished!
Place rings inside preheated air fryer and spray with cooking oil ( I used avocado oil ) and cook for 5 or more minutes until golden brown and flip over and cook another 5 minutes. Remove the rings and set aside. Mix a dipping sauce together of choice. I made a honey mustard dip!
½ cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard ½ tablespoon lemon juice
