Pumpkin season is in full effect and that means well…everything pumpkin! DUH! I took a trip to Trader Joe’s to pick up some Fall colored florals and greenery. Plus, I got a pumpkin to make my own floral arrangement in a pumpkin!
Pumpkin ( medium sized )
Bundles of flowers
Greenery fillers like Eucalyptus stems
Wet Foam Flower Sponge ( Hobby Lobby, Joanne’s, Michaels )
Plastic Saran Wrap
Dried Wheat ( Hobby Lobby )
Floral Scissors
1. First you will want to gut your pumpkin as good as you can. Once it is empty, take your saran wrap and place it inside the opening of the pumpkin. This will protect the sponge at the bottom, ensuring a longer-lasting arrangement of your pumpkin floral arrangement.
2. Place your sponge on top of the seran wrap, make sure to completely soak your sponge prior before inserted.
3. Add about 1/2 cup of water on top of the sponge.
4. Insert each floral at a time, rotating the pumpkin to get all sides. Think front, back, side & side for each stem. Then add greenery, and finally, your dried wheat.
Tip: Don’t worry about having your stems be the same length. The height dimensions will add texture and make your floral arrangement in a pumpkin appear larger!
