It’s always hot in Florida, like for real but now that we have a pool again in our new home one of my favorite ways to entertain in the Summer is you guess it, Pool Party! Whether you’re heading to a chill backyard hangout or a full-blown splash fest, pool parties are the thing to say yes to this summer.
But if you’ve ever stared into your closet wondering, “What do people even wear to a pool party?” – girl, I’ve got you. Let’s keep it cute, comfy, and confident. I’m sharing easy outfit ideas and what to bring. Also, learn how long to stay (without overstaying) and a fruity mocktail recipe that’s as Instagram-worthy as it is refreshing.
Amazon pool float finds:

Here’s the thing – pool party style should feel laid back but put together. You want to look effortless, not like you tried too hard in the heat. My go-to combos:
The Breezy Cover-Up Queen: Think lightweight kimonos, linen button-downs, or gauzy midi cover-ups. They look amazing thrown over a one-piece or bikini and keep you cool and covered.
The Set It and Forget It Matching Set: A cute crop top and shorts set or flowy tank + skirt combo screams sunny-day style.
The Elevated One-Piece: Pair a classic one-piece swimsuit with high-waisted shorts and fun slides for a casual chic vibe.
Maxi Dress Moment: A flowy maxi in a bold bright color is perfect for lounging, sipping, and looking cute in photos. Just add big sunnies and you’re good to go!

Here’s your no-fuss checklist:
A cute towel ( bonus points if it’s striped or colorful )
A change of clothes if you plan to dry off and hang after
Non Toxic Sunscreen – your skin will thank you
A little hostess gift! Think: fruit, fresh flowers, or a cute candle
A drink to share or appetizer to contribute ( easy wins )
If you’re feeling extra, bring a fruity drink dispenser to share! Speaking of…

This one’s always a hit – and it looks so pretty in a clear dispenser! Here’s what you need:
Citrus Splash Mocktail
How to Make It:
Add all sliced fruits and mint to your dispenser. Pour in juice, then chill until ready to serve. Add the sparkling water right before guests arrive for that fizzy pop!

Pool parties are best when they’re just long enough. A sweet spot is 3 to 5 hours – enough time to swim, sip, snack, and soak up the sun without feeling like you’re melting. Pro tip: plan your party to end before sunset unless you’re going for an evening vibe with twinkle lights and late-night dips.

“Pool attire” doesn’t mean just swimsuits. It’s about that easy-going, sunshine-approved look. Think swimsuit + cover-up + cute slides. It’s stylish but simple. You should feel comfy hopping from a lounge chair to grabbing a snack to snapping a few pics without a second thought.
