If there’s one thing I love about the holidays in the kitchen is baking delicious desserts or appetizers that accent the season! It’s fun to take all year long recipes and create a twist to them! That’s what I’m doing with this delicious brownie recipe!
I love to have all of my tools in the kitchen before baking anything so if you’re in need of any of the below, here are some recommendations to make baking anytime of the year easier for you!
For this recipe, I kept things easy. If you have a personal brownie mix to make homemade go for it, but if you’re crunched on time I used a regular brownie box found at my local supermarket, I used this one…because I love chewy brownies. Now let’s make the delicious frosting on top, that takes your brownie from wow to WOWZA!
1 cup of unsalted butter softened
4 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream
3 cups of powdered sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons of peppermint extract
1/2 cup of peppermint candy crushed or you can crush it yourself inside a sandwich bag
After your brownies are cooled down start to make your frosting! I use my kitchen aid standing mixer as it blends everything the best. Add the softened utter, powder sugar, heavy whipping cream and peppermint extract until it is creamy. Add your crushed peppermint candy and fold. Spread the entire frosting evenly over your brownies. You can serve right away or let chill in the fridge when ready to serve. Enjoy every holiday bite!
