Where are my peppermint lovers at? My husband isn’t a fan but I AM!! These peppermint brownies, especially the Peppermint Brownie variety, are ridiculously easy to make, insanely fudgy, and topped with the dreamiest peppermint frosting. Honestly, they’re one of my favorite holiday treats to whip up because they taste like you spent hours in the kitchen but nope, we’re keeping it simple and delicious.

The Easiest Peppermint Brownie Recipe Ever

Here’s the thing: if you have your own go-to homemade brownie mix, by all means, use it. But if you’re crunched on time (same), grab a good ol’ brownie box mix from your local supermarket. I used this one because I love chewy brownies with that rich, fudgy center and those perfect, slightly crisp edges. Yes please.

Once those brownies are baked and completely cooled, it’s time to take things from wow to WOWZA with the best peppermint frosting ever

Easy Peppermint Frosting Recipe

This is where the magic happens. It’s smooth, fluffy, and packed with holiday flavor. Here’s what you’ll need:

Peppermint Frosting Ingredients

  • 1 cup of unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream
  • 3 cups of powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of peppermint extract
  • 1/2 cup of peppermint candy, crushed (you can crush it yourself inside a sandwich bag, it’s kind of fun!)

Directions

Once your brownies are cooled, start on your frosting. I use my KitchenAid stand mixer for this because it blends everything together like a dream.

  1. Beat the softened butter, powdered sugar, heavy cream, and peppermint extract until creamy and fluffy.
  2. Gently fold in the crushed peppermint candy.
  3. Spread the frosting evenly over your cooled brownies.
  4. Serve right away or let them chill in the fridge until you’re ready to wow your guests.

These easy peppermint candy cane brownies are perfect for cookie swaps, dessert tables, or just a little cozy night treat with a hot cup of cocoa. Plus, the frosting makes them extra pretty, so if you’re wondering how to decorate peppermint brownies, this is it. What a treat yummo!
