Visit Florida On Your Next Vacation

Florida has so much to offer for couples seeking anything from a weekend getaway to a longer visit. The next time you plan to visit Florida for weekend getaways, check out these five top stops for couples.

St. Petersburg, Florida

If you want to soak up some sun as a couple, then head to St. Petersburg. The city holds the Guinness World Record for the most consecutive days of sunshine! St. Pete Beach is a popular place for sun tanning, swimming and has seven miles of waterfront parks. Downtown also has several museums.

Key West, Florida

If you haven’t been to the Florida Keys, you and your special someone should travel to Key West, an island at the most southern point in the continental United States. Key West is a great place to explore and holds adventures like snorkeling, scuba diving, boat tours, and plenty of margaritas! If you like history and or classic novels, you can also check out the Ernest Hemingway Museum.

West Palm Beach, Florida

I love the downtown West Palm Beach scene. From delicious foodie spots, grabbing a cocktail outside or just walking around window shopping off Worth Avenue is a must! Enjoy the beach minutes away or explore all of the outdoor beauty there is to see. Delray Beach is another fun spot to check out if you want to make a night out of it!

St. Augustine, Florida

You could stay in St. Augustine for a Florida weekend getaway or a week because there’s so much to do! Get a taste of what it’s like to live with alligators at Alligator Farm where you can hold, feed, and watch shows with alligators. Plus, the town boasts plenty of history since it was founded by Spaniards in 1565 (yes, that’s like 200 years before America became a country). It’s also on the seaside – walk St. George street to get a feel for the local restaurants and culture.

Orlando, Florida

Finally, how could we write a post on Florida travel without mentioning Orlando, the home of Walt Disneyworld and Universal Studios? You’ll need a few days to see the parks alone, but if you want to check out the city of Orlando as well, plan for five to seven days. To save money, check out the city pass which allows you to get tickets to Disneyworld, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, or LEGOLAND at a discount. Besides the parks, Orlando also has plenty of art including the famous Orlando Museum of Art, a busy nightlife, and lots of shopping and restaurants.
