Hobby Lobby Wall Art Finds I Love (And What To Avoid!)

share:

I really do love Hobby Lobby

Ah, Hobby Lobby – the place where you go in for one candle and somehow leave with a cart full of things you swore you didn’t need. We’ve all been there! But if you’re like me and want a neutral, elevated, and cohesive home, not every aisle at Hobby Lobby is a win. Today, I’m spilling the tea on the wall art finds I love and the ones you should politely wave at and keep walking.

What Not to Buy at Hobby Lobby

  1. Metal Wall Art: Let’s be real – unless you’re decorating a rustic farmhouse or a biker bar, those scrolled metal wall pieces are just not it. They often look outdated, heavy, and honestly, a little too much. Instead, opt for wood-framed abstract prints or canvas art in neutral tones that give your walls a sophisticated feel without screaming “2009 DIY disaster.”
  2. Words and Inspirational Quote Signs: If I see another Live, Laugh, Love sign, I might just start crying into my aesthetic throw pillows. These signs have had their moment (and it was in 2015). Instead, create a home that feels inspiring with layered textures, natural elements, and well-placed wall decor that speaks for itself. If you really want words, go for framed handwritten-style art in soft, neutral colors instead of mass-produced phrases.
  3. Overly Vibrant, Fake-Looking Faux Florals: Hobby Lobby has some amazing faux florals, but it also has some neon pink hydrangeas that look like they belong in a 90s Barbie dream house. Avoid anything too bright, plasticky, or obviously fake. Instead, go for muted, realistic stems like pampas grass, olive branches, eucalyptus, or cream-toned florals for that effortless designer look. Here’s a tip, if you can bend the stem to give it a more organic feel…go for it!

The gnomes and garden trinkets… walk on by. ( sorry )

Metal wall art and inspirational quote/word signs, let’s retire those!

This looks like an alien signal, let’s find wall art that is more timeless and goes into any home style particularly since you’re here, a earthy modern organic home.

What to Buy Instead

Now that we’ve purged the no-gos, let’s talk about what is worth tossing into that cart!

Large-scale landscape art – It makes a statement without overwhelming your space. Think soft neutrals, warm beiges, and calming landscapes.

Stone and Earthy Vases – Hobby Lobby has some stunning stone-like textured vases that bring an organic and timeless feel to your space. Look for neutral-toned, terracotta, or earthenware vases that add depth without being overpowering. Opt for stone, terracotta, or earthy ceramic vases for a natural and timeless look. A beautifully textured or neutral-toned vase can be the perfect statement piece for a coffee table, shelf, or entryway.

Framed botanical prints – Timeless and elegant! These add a touch of nature without feeling cluttered.

Wood-framed mirrors – Not only do they make your space feel bigger, but they also add warmth and character.

Earthy Woven baskets and wall decor – Adds texture and an earthy feel that blends beautifully with a neutral aesthetic.

When Does Hobby Lobby Have Their Sales?

If you love a deal (and let’s be honest, who doesn’t?), Hobby Lobby runs its sales in cycles! Most wall decor, including framed prints and canvases, goes 50% off every other week. Their famous 80%-90% off clearance sale usually happens at the end of seasons, and Christmas decor starts going on sale before you’ve even finished your Thanksgiving leftovers. So plan your visits wisely!
