Christmas Bedroom Decorating

With the holidays right around the corner, there’s no better time to bring a little holiday magic into every corner of our homes. This includes the bedroom! While we often focus on decorating living rooms and dining spaces, adding a touch of Christmas spirit to your bedroom can make each morning feel a bit more special! I’m excited to share how I dressed up my dresser. This helped create a cozy, Christmas-inspired bedroom look that you can easily recreate. You will need just a few affordable finds from Target, Amazon & Etsy!

Dressed-Up Dresser

A well-decorated dresser can anchor the festive feel of your Christmas bedroom. Think of it as a mini seasonal display area. It is a place to add decor that sets a cozy, wintery vibe. For my dresser, I went with a mix of greens, neutrals, and golds. This gave it that classic holiday look without overwhelming the room.

To start, I cleared my dresser to make room for a layered look. I love using a garland as a base – it instantly adds texture and gives that “fresh from the forest” feel. For this setup, I chose a thinner garland from Target. Adding a garland along the edge of your dresser or in a circle around your decor creates a beautiful, natural frame for the rest of your display.

Seasonal Accents

The next step is adding smaller decor pieces. Candles are my go-to! Not only do they create a warm, ambient glow, but they come in so many scents that make the whole room smell like a winter wonderland. For this setup, I placed a few battery-operated LED taper candles. These added some height and dimension.

To mix things up, I found a set of mini Christmas trees at Target. These little guys come in different colors, so you can choose between classic green, flocked, or even gold. Adding a couple of these trees on each side of the garland brought balance and symmetry to the display. This created a whimsical feel that complemented the greenery perfectly.

Cozy Textures

A Christmas bedroom is all about coziness, so soft textures are essential! While the dresser takes center stage, it’s always a good idea to bring some of those cozy elements into other parts of the bedroom. Adding a throw blanket to your bed, or an armchair if you have one, can help. Swap out your regular throw pillows for a couple of holiday-themed ones from Amazon. Adding seasonal pillows can make your whole room feel like Christmas without a huge commitment. Look for pillows in shades of deep green, snow white, plaid patterns, or even velvet textures to bring in that cozy Christmas feel.

Festive Mirror Accent

If you have a mirror over your dresser, don’t let it go undecorated! Adding a small wreath or some hanging ornaments on a ribbon is an easy way to continue the holiday theme upwards. I found a small wreath with bells at Target. It was the perfect size for hanging in the center of my mirror.

If wreaths aren’t your thing, another simple idea is to hang a few shatter-proof ornaments. Use a pretty chiffon ribbon and attach them to the corners of the mirror. The ornaments catch the light beautifully and add just the right amount of sparkle!

Holiday Frames

One of my favorite ways to add personality to my Christmas bedroom is with a few holiday-themed wall art. I printed a couple of my favorite Christmas prints a few years ago and popped them into frames for a nostalgic touch. Etsy has some adorable prints that fit perfectly with holiday decor. These can add a warm feel to the space.

Final Touches

You’re almost done! Scenting the room is a must. Besides the candles, consider a room spray or a essential oil diffuser with winter scents. Try pine, peppermint, or cinnamon to keep the holiday spirit alive all season long. Talk about a way to relax at home! Smelling oh so lovely!
