Ceramic Plates & Bowls: Opt for hand-painted ceramics with blue and yellow designs, reminiscent of the Amalfi Coast’s iconic tile work.
Linen Napkins: Choose linen napkins in shades of white or soft pastels, tied with twine and a sprig of rosemary for an earthy touch.
Glassware: Use colorful glassware or simple, elegant wine glasses to serve Italian wines or sparkling water.
Centerpieces: A simple vase with fresh lemons, olive branches, and white flowers can create a stunning and fragrant centerpiece.
Positano Style Dresses
Channel the effortless chic of Positano with flowy, bohemian-style dresses:
Maxi Dresses: Light, airy maxi dresses in floral prints or solid colors like white, blue, or coral are perfect for a relaxed yet stylish look.
Off-Shoulder Styles: Off-shoulder dresses with ruffles add a touch of romance and are perfect for a summer evening.
Accessorize: Pair your dress with simple sandals, a straw hat, and minimal jewelry to complete the look.
Italian Menu Ideas
For the menu, focus on simple, fresh ingredients that highlight the flavors of Italy. Here’s a sample menu:
Appetizers: Start with a classic Caprese salad with ripe tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. Add a charcuterie board with Italian meats, cheeses, olives, and fresh bread.
Main Course: Serve a creamy lemon and ricotta Rigatoni. Here’s a delicious recipe:
Rigatoni Bolognese Recipe
Ingredients:
1 lb rigatoni pasta
1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
1/2 lb ground pork
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 carrots, finely chopped
2 celery stalks, finely chopped
1/2 cup dry red wine
1 cup whole milk
1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
2 tbsp tomato paste
2 bay leaves
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
Salt and pepper to taste
Olive oil
Fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)
Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)
Instructions:
Cook the Pasta:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the rigatoni according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Bolognese Sauce:
In a large skillet or Dutch oven, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, carrots, and celery. Sauté until the vegetables are soft and the onion is translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
Add the ground beef and pork to the skillet. Cook, breaking up the meat with a spoon, until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
Pour in the red wine and let it simmer for a few minutes until reduced slightly.
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, milk, bay leaves, oregano, and nutmeg. Season with salt and pepper.
Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer gently for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. The longer it simmers, the richer the flavor.
Combine and Serve:
Once the sauce is ready, remove the bay leaves. Toss the cooked rigatoni with the Bolognese sauce until the pasta is well coated.
Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese.
Enjoy this hearty and flavorful Rigatoni Bolognese, perfect for a cozy dinner with friends and family!
Dessert: End the evening with a classic Tiramisu or a light lemon sorbet.
