Hi there friends! If you’re a bride on a budget or the creative type, I want to share with you some easy steps to create and design your very own bridal bouquet for your wedding with Trader Joe’s flowers. Each floral selection will depend on the season of purchasing the available floral but the same concept will apply depending on which month you decide to have your wedding, lucky for us, Trader Joe’s always has an amazing selection of pretty blooms to purchase! Here we go!
I recommend purchasing the floral and designing this bouquet 1 day prior to your big day, keep the floral in a cool place with water in a vase, like your bathroom until you need it! You will need to grab your floral tools:
You will need:
Flowers from Trader Joe’s
(2) Greenery – Greenery of choice
(2) Focal Flowers – Your personal favorite flower
(1) Filler Flowers – This is your filler, it can be textured or a subtle pop of color
(2) Statement Flower – A taller flower that has movement
Floral Tape
Floral Scissors
Ribbon
Floral Pins
Glass Vase or Bucket
Start with your base of greenery, I like to use greenery for stability, texture, and dimension. Make sure to turn your bouquet around so you can design from every angle. Add up to two pieces first to begin. Then add your filler flower, focal flower, repeat 3 times.
And keep adding and adding…have fun with it, don’t be afraid to let it look “messy” or unstructured, this is the whole point! Let your flowers rest naturally at an angle, it will frame your greenery nicely. You want the arrangement to have natural movement.
Finish the arrangement by adding dramatic statement flowers that add height and dimension.
Once your bundle is done, you will want to cut down your stems to about 3-4 inches off, so it’s even!
Next you will want to wrap your base with floral tape tightly and secure.
Tie your ribbon around the floral tape, you can use thicker or thin ribbon, whatever you like.
Place your pins upward, make sure to cut them down a bit with your floral scissors on the inside if it’s poking out too much.
Aw, she’s a beauty! I hope that you found this resourceful and fun. What’s awesome about designing your own bouquet, you can truly bring your own personality and love for colors within it! Keep your bouquet in a cold place until it’s ready to be used. Somewhere like a cold room like a bathroom with the lights off. Make it’s placed in water so the stems can stay hydrated!
Here are some tools I recommend to get started on your DIY bouquet. All you will need to find is your florals! Good luck and let me know how it turned out!
